May workshop
Weekend workshop - July dates will be announced soon
Course director: Pieter de Vries Course duration: 2 days - download a breakdown
Regardless of whether you shoot with a conventional camcorder or an HD DSLR, story-telling and shooting-for-the-edit can play second fiddle to impressive features and the breathtaking image quality of today's digital video cameras. This sometimes overlooked aspect of filmmaking forms the essence of the workshop. Time is dedicated to HD DSLR users with cameras like the Canon 7D, 5D, or Nikon D800 to show how to get the best from these camera in movie mode.
Learn from the best
In his workshops, master of cinematography and qualified trainer Pieter de Vries passes on to you a wealth of techniques, ideas and tips gleaned from years of shooting award-winning material in an array of environments, under all sorts of conditions.
You will learn from one of the country's most prominent cinematographers - 30 years of travelling the world working with a variety of cameras, lenses and lighting kits. A PDV workshop is your chance to learn from the pro who trains the professionals.
Small group workshops
These are small-group workshops of between five and ten participants. This offers the best balance of a comfortable learning environment, personal attention and hands-on experience. Comments about recent workshops
